2021 Cabernet Cortis Barrique Winery Prof. Wartenberg 

This modern PIWI variety (fungus-resistant grape variety, in German Pilzwiderständige Rebsorte) produces red wines full of character. We still have a few bottles on tap, but we’re also putting some aside. As you savour it, you get a sense of the potential PIWI wines can reach and the sort of red wine that can be produced along the Saale and Unstrut rivers. Among our reds, it’s already one of our favourites.

This wine combines intense aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant and blueberry. These fruity aromas are complemented by subtle notes of poppy seed and dark chocolate, which lend the Cabernet Cortis a pleasant depth.
